Sue Bender
Sue Bender, an Associate Agent with HBC Group of Keller Williams McLean-Great Falls, brings a wealth of experience to the real estate world. With a journey that encompasses 23 military moves and an equal number of new homes, she is deeply knowledgeable about the needs and challenges faced by both buyers and sellers, and intimately understands just how important finding the right house is in order to feel at home. She knows that buying or selling a property is a significant decision, and is always ready to guide you through the process with expertise and care.
Sue has contributed her skills in a number of professional and volunteer capacities across the US and abroad, always with positivity, kindness and a deep respect for those she serves.
At Arlington National Cemetery, Sue serves as an Arlington Lady, representing the Chief of Staff of the Air Force to veterans’ families who are laying their loved ones to rest. Sue has volunteered with many other military-focused organizations including the American Red Cross, the United Services Organization, United States Armed Forces Europe, the German American Women’s Club, and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. She has been a featured speaker at Air Force development courses and military spouse events and forums. She also has served in board positions and adviser roles for numerous spouse organizations. She has been awarded the Civilian Volunteer of the Year Award, and she and her husband together have received Air Mobility Command’s General and Mrs. Jerome F. O’Malley Award, recognizing those who exemplify the highest ideals and positive leadership of a leadership team.
Sue graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Manhattan College. She began her work career as a Certified Public Accountant. She worked in the World Trade Center in New York City before marrying her husband Bill and beginning a 34-year adventure as an Air Force spouse. Her son, a former Air Force F-16 pilot, now flies for Southwest Airlines. He and his wife have four children. Sue’s daughter, an attorney specializing in corporate litigation and international law, lives in Washington, DC.
